Syracuse to add D1 Hockey

Syracuse University will be fielding a Division 1 team for the 2008/09 season.

This job posting was posted recently on the NCAA job board, and indicates that a head coach will start in or about September 1, 2007. I would expect that the Head Coaching position would be finalized within the next 3-4 weeks at the latest.

Syracuse will fund the women's hockey team with the maximum 18 allowable scholarships, and I expect the team to be competitive real quickly, as Syracuse is a big sports school.
